Human nature – tender core (a kural)

We emerged on birth
as a good.

The roads gets unsteady
still we go

The smiles get weary
still we go

The tension tides builts
still we go

Go doesn always grow
pain breeds pain.

We unknowingly also inflicted
others, turmoil unfold.

Still we, a child
despite grown-up mold.

Beneath an intimidating exterior
Divulge plentiful more

Why do we question
limitations of love?

We often use aggression
disguised, as shove.

Could we pull skins
Revealing inner core.

Could we make tenderness
Not a chore?

The kural (plural: kuralgal) is an ancient form of Tamil poetry, but it’s still widely used today, even in Singapore, especially among traditionalist poets. Each kural consists of just two lines. The first line has four words, and the second line has three words.
