Tiong Bahru
a few weeks ago , bestfriend & i decided to go on a cafe hunt. What i heard on social media was that tiong bahru is the new house to many cafes so we head over in the search for nice food. To be precise, good looking food actually.
First stop : The orange thimble.
We had 2 wraps, one mocha & one vanilla milkshake
The coffee art looks really cute but it dosen't taste nice so disappointing :((
mine was mocha but i couldn't taste any chocolate in it !!
-random insert of a selfie-
grilled chicken wrap. maybe a slightly passable quality-
yet the whole cafe has such a nice ambience, almost empty at non peak hours and it's perfect if you are searching for a place to do your homework, read a book or simply to enjoy the laidback feeling over a cup of coffee.
I am a really open minded person so i will share of how i manage to get to work here.
1. we were badly complaining of the food at the cafe to the manager.
2. we gave them some feedback
3. i was without a job at that time and they were hiring part timers. I don't like commitments because school was starting early for me and so i asked them if it was possible to work for the time being.
4. i wanted to help the cafe ((the most important reason))
5. I must be insane.
[Because who works at a cafe which he/she dislike the food and travels from sengkang ---> tiong bahru]
next stop 4 dessert: Drips Cafe
I would really want to praise this cafe because not only the ambience is really good with all the comfy seats etc, the tarts they sell taste as good if not better than it looks!!
Though the price is really expensive but food nowadays esp cafe food are just pure expensive.
and yes maybe you asking,
so why didn i work here?
-They weren't hiring ughhh.
i discovered about laneway festival here. I wanna go damn bad !!! :( Yet the tickets were $100++ and like few of my close friends are interested in things like these , and i don;t have a bf so if i go myself it's like so sadddddddd.
sidetrack abit, i just discovered about the artweek like in the last few days of the week which i busy. So upset :((((
I would have gone !! so many cool pieces on display.
Kinda bad @ ending off posts but there is another post just after this !
:-)
Thanks for reading and trust me, tiong bahru is one of the place you would like to go if you haven been to ! ^_^
a little useful tip: taking mrt to tiong bahru would not get you to the side of the cafe area.
a shortcut would be to take mrt to outram park station ,
come out of the exit
cross over the traffic light to the SGH side
and take any bus that goes to 'Blk 55" (it's just 1 stop!! )
xx,
hope you have fun searching for beautiful things that will make you smile
:)
