Myths about introverts

From young,
I'd preferred to sit by a bookshelf of books for hours
than to run in a playground with the other kids.
I'd preferred to draw and colour
Than to gossip around who is that new cute boy in kindergarden.
I like kept my inner thoughts
safe and intact.
I am an introvert.
And it's almost impossible for me to talk to anyone at all back then.
Because i often struggled with choking words,
and nervous pauses in between new situations.
I am an introvert.

Being an introvert,
You are always gonna be mistaken.
Mistaken for the times you don't speak to no one at all
with a deadly expression on your face
and your self sitting in the most isolated corner of the room.

Being an introvert
Makes you always have to need to be with yourself
even if it is at a awkward timing
when it's a wonderful party at your friend's house
yet, all you want to do is to curled up on your bed listening to sad music
and writing poetry.

Being an introvert
is hard
Because you always have to figure out what to do with the in betweens
with how society tries to tell you that being alone means you are lonely.
Of that you should start joining more parties
and conversations.

Being an introvert
Makes you so unknowingly shun away from people
even people whom you love.
because you need your own mind to start speaking to remind you
of yourself again.
remind you that no matter how bad moments try to eat you;
yet you shall never be someone bitter.

Being an introvert
is like being a book.
filled with big words
yet so quiet.
That these big words had hidden meanings
and so hard to decipher.

Yet, being an introvert.
can also be loud.
in the voice,
in wanting to be heard.
Just at the end of the day,
you recharged again by not being around
people.

Being an introvert.
You spent time creating.
Innovating things with the new ideas you
caught so hard when you were with people.

Only years later then i came to know,
being an introvert,
should never be in my list of
shamefulness.
