Sign of the times

A step over the less-conventional,

was not a plan intentional.

Along the way of all the transitional,

I kept wondering why are many things today still 

so two-dimensional? 

It's the sign of the times,

that perhaps it is now the new norm sublime,

and present-day ladders mimics curves and angles 

; never just linear. 

Apart from the present, 

one ought to give the conventional way more bent.

Only then are we challenging each other to ascend,

for an ever-changing transcend

; as we fear to be content.
